Dear Homefolks
You must excuse this very short note this time, & also next week. The final exam is Monday week & the quantity of stuff that we have to get off by heart fairly appals me. Haven’t had a letter from Australia for hages, but I know it is not your fault. But I did get a pleasant surprise last Friday. No less than 3 parcels, thanks very much for the filigiree shirts _ _ _. They are great. Also the soap, pills & oil. Not to mention the Okernut Kice [coconut ice] that dear little Smiola made. It was very nice Viola, I’m quite prepared to sample anything in the sweets line that you care to manufacture. I’m quite willing to take a few sporting risks. Vivie  Percy & Vernie were OK up to a little while ago. Vernie is floating round with 3 up.
Well I’ll close now with the very best of love to you all from your loving son & brother Bert.
